How do I install MaskBeforeAI?

Download the latest release from GitHub, unzip it, go to chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox support is planned.

Which AI platforms are supported?

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Meta AI, and Mistral.

Does MaskBeforeAI send my images to a server?

No. All image processing happens 100% locally in your browser. No images, data, or metadata ever leave your device.

What masking modes are available?

Blur (Gaussian blur), Pixelate (mosaic effect), and Black Box (solid black rectangle). You can choose the mode per region.

Can I undo a mask I've drawn?

Yes. Use Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo. You can also use the eraser tool.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

B = Brush, E = Eraser, D = Draw box, M = Magnifier, 1/2/3 = Mask modes, Ctrl+Z = Undo, Ctrl+Shift+Z = Redo, Escape = Cancel.

What does Pro add over the free version?

Pro adds document masking — upload PDFs, code files, text files, and other documents. They're converted to pages you can mask individually, then exported as a masked PDF.

What file types does Pro support?

PDF, plus text and code files: .txt, .log, .md, .json, .xml, .yaml, .csv, .js, .ts, .py, .java, .go, .rs, .php, .html, .css, and many more.

What's the difference between Pro and Lifetime?

Same features. Pro is €19.99/year (recurring). Lifetime is €49.99 one-time (pay once, use forever with all future Pro updates).

How do I activate my license?

After purchase, you'll receive a license key. Go to Extension Settings → License → enter the key → click Activate.

Can I get a refund?

Digital products are generally non-refundable after delivery. If you have issues, contact info@ki-sum.ai and we'll help resolve them.

What does Enterprise include?

AI-powered features: automatic face detection, OCR text recognition, named entity recognition (NER), desktop clipboard monitoring, and policy signing. Contact info@ki-sum.ai for details.

The review dialog doesn't appear when I paste an image.

Check that the extension is enabled (look for the MaskBeforeAI badge in the bottom-right corner). Click it to toggle on/off. Also verify the site is in the supported platforms list.
